At least we are sharing around here!

So I often compain to my kids that they aren't sharing. They fight over just about everything and it drives me wild!!! However, I can't say that I am especially thrilled that they have all decided to share "Fifth's Disease" with each other. This disease typically only affects children ages 5 - 15, but somehow my two boys have had it too.
Thank goodness its no big deal! A little cold followed by a huge rash is something that I can deal with. In fact, if the girls weren't so itchy I would have sent them to school because once you have the rash you are not contageous any more. When Abby got this right after Christmas I went and read a bunch about it and I have never laughed at a description of a symptom before, but I couldn't help myself this time! One of the symptoms of the rash is that the "child looks as though they have been slapped in the face". Now, I haven't personally slapped my kids in the face, so I can't be sure, but I believe that it means that the rash starts on their cheeks because they turn really red. But, seriously. . . . how hilarious right????
At least it isn't something worse that they are sharing. . . like . . . . ummm. . .. malaria or something, so I guess I can't complain too much!

My Heros

When I was young and I would be asked who my hero was I would usually say that it was either my Grandpa Bennion or my Dad. It is still true today, however I seem to have found 5 more heros to add to my list! I took pictures of my heros today, and I wanted to post them, however please note that I haven't edited the backgrounds yet!

Abby has always been my hero because she is always so willing to take care of her younger brothers and sisters.

Anne is my hero because she shows me that someone can be beautiful both inside and out.
Caroline is my hero because she always puts a smile on my face, no matter what the situation is!
Dustin is my hero because he shows me that there is always something to learn.
Lee is my hero because he has taught me how to endure to the end.
So there you have it. I have a whole bunch of heros. And I don't know what my life would be like without them!

SURPRISE!!!

I am so excited because when the big girls come home from school today, thier room will look different!! I have just finished buying everything that needs to go into their room, and so I can't wait to see their faces when they take a look at how different it looks!!
Abby and Anne have a very large bedroom and I wanted to make it cool and different for them. The theme of their bedroom is princess/midevil times. For Halloween I had my cousin Alex take pictures of them in their princess costumes with Dustin being a knight in shining armor. I have gotten those pictures blown up on poster board and I am hanging them around the room. I then bought these cute princess bedding sets at Ikea to put on their bed. Because their room is so large, they have room for a sitting area in it. I have bought the cool hanging chairs from Ikea to hang in the corner (one for each of them) and I got a whole bunch of mirrors to go on the wall behind it. I then have a circular rug that goes in that corner, so they have this really cool little sitting area in their room. Another bonus of their bedroom is that they have a tv mounted on the wall, so they can also use that corner to watch tv. I am getting so excited just thinking about it. I can't wait until they get home. . . only 3 1/2 more hours!!

Is he really getting better?

Dustin has been sick for the past couple of days. He had been acting as though he felt better until last night. He decided that sleep would be optional last night, and unfortunately Otto and I were not the ones who got to choose whether or not we got to sleep! We tried everything!!! Finally, Dustin decided to go to sleep. . . .only to have Caroline come into our room 2 or 3 times. . . I kinda lost count after the first time because I sent her over to her daddy!! (Yay for Otto!!!)
So today we have been reaping the rewards of our fabulous night and we are all tired, and cranky. For some reason I think that Dustin must be getting better because all he does is cry. . . or is it that he is getting worse?? He doesn't have a fever any more, but that doesn't mean he isn't still sick. Otto, Caroline and Dustin all got to stay at home from church today to "rest", but coming home, I think that I was the one who actually got the break. My poor son hasn't stopped crying since I walked in the door. Maybe if I feed him something he will stop crying.
On a brighter note, today at church they were talking about missionary stories and ways that the kids could do missionary work. It made me remember about 6 months ago when the kids learned about giving away Books of Mormon to others. They were taught that they should share the Book of Mormon with somebody that they loved. At the end of the lesson, they were each given a Book of Mormon and challenged to give it to someone that they loved alot and that they think would want to become a member of the church. Abby took that to heart, and that night she walked right up to my Grandma Lee and gave her a Book of Mormon and told her that it was from our church and that if she read it that my Grandmother could learn about Jesus. It was probably the most adorable thing I have ever seen. . . even though Grandma Lee is a member of the church. I was so proud of her.
Well, in this whole time that I have been writing, Dustin STILL hasn't stopped crying. . . I had better go see if I can help in some way!
